Sankuanz presented by GQ China AW15
January 12, 2015
With the tremendous support of GQ China, Sankuanz once again graced the runway of LC:M this morning with a conceptual Asian inspired collection.
Strong reference to the playful and brightly themed Asian fashion that has widely been embraced in the West, Sankuanz applied relaxed tailoring with a wide use of faded spray paint effects and pink colour pallettes to contrast a typical mainstream AW collection.
Teamed with vibrant red trousers and vivid graphics, the theme introduced a style that replicated a time of 60s hippy and 70s club attire. His ethos of providing an option to rival the mainstream ideology was evident with a vast variety of textures and pattern choices largely used on over-sized blazers, white bomber jackets and elongated light-weight coats, a staple to his designs since his debut at Shanghai Fashion Week in 2013.
The plastic fringing applied to a statement leather jacket turned out to be the more eccentric piece of the collection. Sportswear tops are simplistic, embellished with the subtle summer inspired water colour elements that interchange to incorporate into an Autumn/Winter outfit. Like the majority of the collection, backpacks are bold and appropriate in adaptability and a black office-wear influence toward the end was established with both gold buttons and strong silhouettes.
