Alan Taylor SS15
July 11, 2014
Continuing with his signature experimental dialogue of merging fashion with indie subcultures, Alan Taylor works in fine visual art for Spring/Summer 15.
Taking inspiration from the indie rock aesthetic of the early noughties with bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alan recreates the look of dirty converse, ripped skinny jeans and combines it with refined tailoring for a fun yet juxtaposed look.
The work of fine artist Jenny Saville is also introduced through screen-printed fabric and hand manipulated organza blended with a lightweight open-weave wool and hand printed cotton shirting.
Alan Taylor’s concise tailoring explores asymmetry and the conflict between both fabric and silhouette. Preview the collection below.
