There seems to be an influx of intense, accessory collaborations – especially in the print category. You may recall this joint venture that we introduced you to earlier in the month. Just in time for the Frieze Art Fair, London’s nearly infamous shoe-brand (made famous the world over by a host of subcultures), has joined forces with Sir John Soane’s Museum.

Dr. Martens has cooked up a boot, a shoe and a satchel swathed in William Hogarth’s series of paintings A Rake’s Progress, which were brought to life on canvas way back in the early 1700’s.

You’ll have to buy the range to fully inspect the scenes, but we’re expecting plenty of gambling, prostitution and out-and-out debauchery. The pieces are made of printed Softy T leather and the footwear features Dr. Martens trademark bold stitching. What is Softy T leather? We’re not entirely sure, but it sounds pyjama-like and comfortable. You can get the collection exclusively at Dr. Martens stores.

If you feel like studying A Rake’s Progress off your feet or bag, or if you feel like doing any accessory to original comparisons, you can visit Sir John Soane’s Museum at 13 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London WC2A 3BP, Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00am – 5:00pm.
