The creative dip-dye legends behind Bleach – the Dalston-based salon which created some of the biggest colour trends in the last three years, including silver sheen, sea-punk, recession roots and rainbow hues – will be teaming up with unique catering company, Tart, to launch their own pop-up bar this August.
For the limited time of 10 weeks, the bar will be situated just a few doors down from the ‘coolest salon in town’ and will feature unusual new cocktails (we are personally looking forward to trying The Slushino and Wonky Direction) and signature snacks.
“We want to create [cocktails] using seasonal ingredients with new and exciting flavours, like pineapple chilli and mint, or watermelon and basil[…]Throughout the summer we are looking to do alcoholic lollipops, frozen margaritas and slushies; by autumn perhaps there will be something more warming on the menu…” – Lucy Carr-Elison from Tart
The bar concept of ‘East meets East London’ has been overseen by renown set-designer, David White (Vivienne Westwood, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, Acne) and reimagines an old Chinese restaurant, brought to life with Asian imagery, juxtaposing oriental exoticism with an East London backdrop. The result is a Blade Runner-esque, psychedelic acid trip with a nod to Enter the Void’s Asian clubbing and city visuals.
The Bar will be open to the public from the 14th August – 11th October, Thursday through to Saturday from 6pm–2am.
