British Fashion Council Announces NEWGEN MEN Recipients
November 9, 2015
In the run-up to next year’s AW16 season of London Collections: Men, the British Fashion Council have announced the recipients of their NEWGEN MEN support.
With the rapid continuation of growth in menswear, the NEWGEN MEN initiative, sponsored by Topman, endorses emerging talent and assists them with both financial support and commercial advice, whilst allowing them to exhibit at one of the world’s largest showcases for menswear. Previous designers have including Sibling, J.W. Anderson and Christopher Shannon.
Established to highlight exceptional British talent, Caroline Rush CBE (chief executive of the British Fashion Council) comments that “each of the ten recipients uniquely represents the diverse and robust position of London and the UK within the global menswear market.”
The line-up of NEWGEN MEN designers accentuates the diversity of the current menswear landscape with the return of Bobby Abley’s playful, cartoon-inspired contemporary wear alongside the duo of Agi & Sam’s bespoke prints and Nasir Mazhar’s intricate streetwear. New to the NEWGEN MEN roster next season is Liam Hodges and his punk-influenced menswear. Other recipients include Alex Mullins, Astrid Andersen, Cottweiler, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Nasir Mazhar and PIETER.
