CHENLONHENKU married heritage with contemporary silhouettes at Vancouver Fashion Week
October 2, 2017
We highlighted CHENLONHENKU as one of our designers to watch for the spring/summer 2018 season, and the brand certainly didn’t disappoint.
Leading the pack of strong menswear on the Vancouver catwalk, London-based CHENLONHENKU married Chinese heritage with contemporary silhouettes like wide-leg trousers, baseball-style caps and jackets aplenty. Prints were scattered atop bold hues like turquoise and orange and some of the strongest looks were monochrome, featuring head-to-toe checkerboard or hand-written messaging.
The styling is what set CHENLONHENKU apart; every single models’ face was obscured by a cloth-printed mask. The collection would make Daft Punk, Deadmau5 and Pussy Riot proud – it’s about the message, not the messenger.
