Christopher Raeburn and Clarks Continue with Collaboration
March 1, 2016
Collaborations, collaborations, collaborations. February has only just ended and it seems every brand and their cousin has revealed new moves for 2016 partnerships – Rihanna and PUMA, Kanye and adidas, and just last week we announced Pharrell was now co-owner of luxe-denim brand, G-Star.
Following their acclaimed spring/summer 2016 collaboration, Clarks and Christopher Raeburn are back at it again with a collection of Mongolian-inspired boots.
When the Clarks x Christopher Raeburn collaboration was initially announced it might have been a surprise to some: what would bring together a centuries-old institution like Clarks and young pioneering brand like Christopher Raeburn? Incidentally, the distinct collaboration sprouted from a “shared love of craftsmanship,” combining Clark’s penchant for unparalleled technique with Raeburn’s iconic utilitarian aesthetic.
In fact, Raeburn received his sign from the universe when he learned that Clark’s debut pair of shoes was made from off-cuts from sheepskin rugs, a sign that the two brands truly aligned on all fronts.
Though the debut range featured eleven styles for both men and woman, the new collection, specifically for Raeburn’s spring/summer 2016 LCM show, featured three Mongolian-inspired men’s boots, based on the “harsh climate and rich culture” of what Raeburn considers “one of the last truly wild places on earth,” Raeburn said in a recent interview.
The collection, featuring a Trigenic-inspired scale boots with sturdy, ever-reliable Clarks’ sole will be on sale later in the year, however those itching to get their hands on anything Clarks x Raeburn-related should take a look at the duo’s previous anthropology-inspired collab, which is available now.
