Fix your daily routine with Dailyroutine’s SS18 collection
March 30, 2018
Our usually streetwear-loving Fashion Editor, Thomas Falkenstedt wants to suit up from time to time and has found the perfect compromise in the sleek, yet edgy looks from the Swedish label Dailyroutine. Here he introduces what’s hot when it comes to Scandinavian minimalism this season.
For SS18, Dailyroutine’s fashion wardrobe, for seven days a week, is a reflection of the new world. By this they mean the unknown, the journey to new frontiers – the first meeting with the unseen and the exotic. All of this comes in a mix of Scandinavian minimalism and bravery. The handcrafted and the sublime as well as the colourful aims to mythically embrace the ethnic spirits. The idea here is to break the standards. To dare to be your own hero. These are the core values for Dailyroutine SS18 and how most of us would want to perceive ourselves. Now we can.
The collection shows a clear focus on patterns and layering. It’s an interesting mix of luxury fashion vs. casual tailoring. Suits and shirts in different patterns blend together with an undertone of technical sportswear alongside summery linen shirts and stylish cotton basics.
The oversize coat is a must-have for this season and the perfect style to update the outerwear wardrobe. The season’s colour scale includes earth tones mixed with eccentric reds.
Designer Christian Lippich, Royal College of Art graduate, is the founder and creative director of the contemporary men’s fashion brand Dailyroutine. The brand that operates in the borderland of luxury fashion and contemporary clothing is designed as a complete wardrobe for the modern man and is probably why it caught my eye.
Dailyroutine shows collections four times a year and offers a solid ground for a modern store to buy seasonal collections. Christian Lippich has a very-established history in contemporary fashion having worked for luxury brands including St John, Elie Tahari, YSL and Alexander McQueen, amongst others. After working as a designer for Tiger of Sweden for eight consecutive years, Christian Lippich decided to start his own label: Dailyroutine.
