Eastpak collaborate with House of Hackney
October 2, 2015
Since 1952 Eastpak has been manufacturing military-issue packs and duffels. Strange, considering now that they’re a lifestyle brand – but it adds strength to their brand: historical expertise underpins the quality of their accessories. Consumers, both loyal and new, trust them. This joint venture is one part of a larger series: “Inspired by the World of”. A set criteria set by Eastpak.
London-based House of Hackney was founded five years ago and are typified by their striking, subversive prints combined with high-quality fabrics. Both brands’ personalities are aptly represented in the collaboration.
Some bags are functional, others are stylish. Up-and-coming designers, in the past, have collaborated with the brand. Nicomede Talavera delivered three collections that flew off the shelves in Selfridges. When collaborations are concerned: Eastpack know what they’re doing.
Each fabric is made in England – velvets are used in their limited-edition pieces and contrasting leather, strong prints and metal hardware in the main collection.
