The Idle Man Moves Offline
October 18, 2016
The Idle Man, the London-based online menswear retailer that launched just two years ago, has opened its first ever store in the heart of Clerkenwell, London. Named the ‘Guide Shop’, the latest marker in Idle’s phenomenal success offers its customers the chance to actually feel and try on the brands that it sells, something that solely online retailers still often see as a setback to sales or a catalyst to high return rates.
Staffed by a team of stylists who guide customers through the collections, the store puts The Idle Man’s own brand in the spotlight, surrounded by the very best in menswear from a carefully curated selection including Grenson, Barbour, YMC, Levi’s, Nudie, Red Wing, Novesta, The North Face, Native Union, Soulland, Billionaire Boys Club and Champion. In addition, a range of lifestyle products from Filmore Skincare, Laboratory Perfumes, Global Knives and Alessi share the typically masculine and industrial space – think scaffolding pipes and raw wood – give men a one-stop destination to shop, idle or otherwise.
“Our mission statement is simple: Style Made Easy,” says CEO Oliver Tezcan. “Our website has already gone a long way towards helping men dress, look and feel better. We have produced a tastefully curated selection of the world’s best brands, authoritative style blog and industry-leading service proposition whilst always aiming to provide our customers with the best experience of The Idle Man. The natural progression from the website was to create a physical embodiment of our brand through our first Guide Shop. It’s a place where customers can actually feel and try on the products whilst being guided by our in house stylists on what suits their build and size. Once they have the right product and fit, they can have it delivered quickly and easily to their home or office, or collect from the store itself.”
The Idle Man ‘Guide Store’ is now open at 97 Leather Lane, London, EC1N 7TS
