Turning to contemporary London as his muse, menswear designer, Jas Gandhum launched his namesake label in 2014 and will be showing his autumn/winter 2017 collection over London Fashion Week Men’s in January. We can’t wait to see what’s in store.
Designed and made in the UK, GANDHUM conflates classic with cutting edge with the aim of making each and every piece a subtle statement.
Sustainability is a focus for the brand from the use of innovative fabrics to keeping production local in an aim at reducing the carbon footprint and economically supporting the local community – a methodology he hopes his discerning clients will value.
Ahead of the unveiling of the autumn/winter range, let’s take a look back to the Meditarreanen-inspired, debut spring/summer 2017 collection that was shown at an exclusive event at Claridges last June.
Relaxed tailoring, lightweight fabrics and subdued checks had us mentally weaving our way through the Côte d’Azur and here is a look at our favourites.
A light brown single breasted jacket with wide peak lapels made from a wool, silk and linen blend over a cotton shirt with French cuffs, pale blue thin striping and mother of pearl buttons. The look is finished with red Summerissimo, blended wool and linen checked trousers, a straw hat and pale pink loafers.
A relaxed fit, double breasted, collarless natural linen suit topping a white cotton t-shirt. Below you can catch a glimpse of the pearl blue lining and the white soled, tanned sandals.
The Royal blue single breasted suit in a blend of linen and cotton with a slim shawl collar. The suit is fully lined in bottle green and the look is finished with a dark purple floral handkerchief, blue tinted sunglasses, a straw hat and leather sandals.
And lastly the brown and blue check double breasted waistcoat with dark brown tapered wool trousers, a blue cotton check shirt and a multi-texture checked silk tie.
See GANDHUM at London Fashion Week Men’s from Friday the 6th through to Monday the 9th of January at 180 Strand in London.
In between shows and events, be sure to stop by and see the Candid team at the autumn/winter 2017 session of the Grooming Room at Century Club.
