Jon Burgerman Designs Exclusive Picnic Blankets for Luc Belaire

BurgermanxBelaire_People1In perfect time for picnics in the park and long days on the beach, British artist Jon Burgerman has designed two limited edition woven picnic blankets to spruce up the summer alfresco experience. Surely there is nothing greater than a season of enjoying great food and drink, with your nearest and dearest, outside.

Our favourite, the ‘People Blanket,’ features a series of happy bikini clad characters, yappy dogs and all sorts of wildlife creatures playfully adorning the motif. In Burgerman’s distinct hand-drawn ‘doodle’ style, the element of summer bursts out of the design inspired by the distinct black bottle and signature pink Rosé.

Jon Burgerman commented: “Luc Belaire is a brand that embodies high style with a sense of enjoyment, and for me any partnership I undertake needs to have synergy with the work I do. It has been great to collaborate on this fun project. Who wouldn’t want happy people sitting and rolling around on top of your art?! Having a picnic outside, in the haze of summer, with friends and lovers, eating and drinking and generally not doing all that much is one of the great joys of life. If these blankets can be a small part of that then that makes me very happy. I fully intend to slap on some sun block and quaff some bubbly whilst lying upon my blanket, drawing in my sketchbook and eating cheese, as soon as possible.”

Established in 1898, Luc Belaire is a premium brand produced in France. 5th and 6th generation father-and-son winemakers oversee production of each bottle of Belaire at their Maison. Renowned for the Belaire Rosé, a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes – the three favorite Rosé grapes of southern region.

The blankets are available through 31Dover.
