LC:M – Hackett AW15
January 26, 2015
Entitled “Sheep shape & London fashion” it quickly became apparent that the Hackett AW15 capsule collection would pay homage to prestigious British textile mills.
At London Collections: Men, a show isn’t all about the collection; you also have to take into account the location, music and size of your guest list. This year Hackett nailed it. The collection was presented at Two Temple Place, an old London mansion set opposite the River Thames, alongside an outstandingly British three course meal which was to die for, and Jeremy’s dog Muffin even made a guest appearance on the runway.
Comprising of just 13 looks, Jeremy Hackett used this collection to reflect on his time working on Savile Row and called inspiration from British Tailor, Tommy Nutter. This collection takes traditional wardrobe staples and puts a decisive twist on them, using various checks and pinstripes throughout.
In keeping with Hackett’s British heritage all pockets, elbow patches, pinstripes and large checks were woven into the finest wool Britain has to offer. The standout piece from the show was a three-piece suit, which had been woven from Jeremy’s own flock that resides in Somerset. Hackett London, in association with Fox Brothers & Co, invested in the flock three years ago, and now their fleeces have matured just in time for this collection.
We look forward to seeing what Jeremy has to show us over dinner next season.
