London Cocktail Week 2016: The Woodford Alliance
September 27, 2016
One of the main highlights of this year’s upcoming London Cocktail Week is The Woodford Alliance; presented by Woodford Reserve, it involves six leading bars from across the globe over the course of three nights.
Woodford Reserve is a super-premium craft bourbon, made from one of America’s oldest and smallest artisanal distilleries in Kentucky. It has been winning awards and acclaim worldwide with its rich, full-bodied taste and smoothness due to the triple distillation process. Apart from depth of flavour, it also has a long, mature aftertaste.
For London Cocktail Week 2016, they are bringing together two top bars, one from London and one international over three nights between October 4th-6th to create a pop-up bar in Shoreditch, where you can experience the best of both worlds. For each night, every aspect of the experience will change from the design and the staff to the drinks menu. The drinks list will include two of the bar’s most famous and popular Woodford Reserve cocktails and the only thing that will remain constant is the location. Each night, they will be offering a series of light bites based on the bars’ menu. There will also be specially curated music playlists from the individual bars themselves.
On Tuesday night, the venue of choice will be Nightjar, which is No.3 on the list of the world’s best bars with the international contribution from Stockholm’s New Orleans-inspired Little Quarter. Wednesday night’s exciting collaboration is from The Punch Room, which won TimeOut’s ‘Bar of the Year’ 2016 alongside The Suffolk Arms, from New York’s Lower East Side; a cocktail bar that is inspired by the typical English pub. Thursday’s offering is from the quirky and whimsical, Peg + Patriot and the über cool cocktail bar from Amsterdam’s finest cocktail scene, The Tailor.
This is a rare opportunity to sample the best cocktails from across the globe without having to accrue excessive amounts of air miles – make sure you book early for special masterclasses.
