Lou Dalton Spring/Summer 2016

June 13, 2015

Lou Dalton updated her man’s essential wardrobe for SS16, lightweight and light-coloured with a nostalgia for heritage pieces. After a autumn/winter’s woolly cocoon, the transparent white jackets and shirts and reimagined gingham was a breath of fresh, spring air. Orange gingham, but swirled as well as checked, and beachy oversized stripe knits were teamed with utilitarian shorts and Harrington jackets, all with a few – maybe too many – puffed out pockets and zips.

Prince of Wales checks on tailoring and shirts were light and silky, and technical fabrics were also used in light raincoats and plastic macs. Bucket hats on cords hung from necks, creating a nineties raver look to the wet-faced glazed models.

Gingham was reflected in the puffed-pocket bags and suede lace-up boots, made in collaboration with Grenson, completed a great, wearable and original collection.
