NYC based singer-songwriter Vardaan Arora is back with an infectious hit that creates the nostalgic feeling of yearning for the summer months. Just Like That, is a nu-soul electronic pop record and comes off the back of his debut Feel Good Song. Comparable to artists such as Zayn, Kygo and Troye Sivan he has created the perfect pop song to get up and dance to.
Born in New Delhi and a recent graduate of NYU, Arora originally built up his following performing covers which he would upload to his YouTube channel. He then independently released Feel Good Song, which after going viral has achieved well over 1.5 million streams and has charted in the Spotify viral top 20. After creating a buzz around himself and his music he has now returned with this follow up commercial single, Just Like That.
Just Like That, produced by Kevin Leach and mixed by Grammy winner Nathan Dantzler, is about looking forward to being with someone who is a healthy distraction from the problems life throws at us. The lyrics, ‘Turn off my mind, just like that,’ not only convey this but also commit to Vardaan’s other aim of ‘creating an infectious pop song that makes you get up and move’. The catchy lyrics together with a cool tropical house vibe on the melodies, with electro beats and Indian influences to the chorus make this a seriously uplifting summer anthem. Not to mention Vardaan’s silky smooth vocals that make the piece what it is.
With this release, Vardaan has proved he has progressed and developed as an musician and I hope that in the future he has more upbeat and catchy material under his belt. This is a talent to watch who brings a unique original sound to the mainstream industry, making a name for himself in an already highly saturated market.
