The British Fashion Council have announced the winners of the NEWGEN MEN for AW15, which is sponsored by Topman.

NEWGEN MEN was originally established in 2009 – which built on the already successful initiative between Topman and Fashion East, MAN. The award has already supported successful designers such as Christopher Shannon, J.W. Anderson and James Long.

The AW15 winners include newcomer, Vidur, along with, Agi & Sam, Alex Mullins, Astrid Andersen, CMMN SWDN, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Kit Neale, Lee Roach, and Nasir Mazhar.

On receiving the award, Raj Mister and Richard Brand of Vidur said: “We are honoured to be part of NEWGEN MEN, and are extremely grateful to the British Fashion Council, the NEWGEN MEN committee and Topman for their continued support and promotion of emerging menswear designers. We are excited about the future and look forward to making the most of the opportunities that being part of such an influential initiative will bring.

The recipients of the award are giving opportunities to showcase their collections at London Collections: Men as well as financial support and business mentoring. The support given helps them to develop their business commercially and creatively whilst allowing them to develop and maintain relationships with key members of the press along with buyers.

Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the BFC, commented: “Each NEWGEN MEN designer has already shown creative talent. The initiative provides the opportunity for these businesses to grow and apply their creative skills. Having nurtured many of the UK’s young menswear talent, NEWGEN MEN is also a key component in raising the reputation of British menswear. We’d like to thank everyone who makes this initiative possible, in particular Topman for its ongoing support.

London Collections: Men kicks off again on 9th January and is now running for 4 days rather than the original 3.
