Peir Wu SS15

Peir Wu has teamed up with CONCRETE PROJECTS following her time at Raf Simons to create a SS15 collection that fuses classic tailoring with sportswear to produce a purist and laid-back range of ready-to-wear pieces.

The Central Saint Martin’s MA Graduate and menswear agency have collaborated after the success of her eponymous label in 2011. There is a central theme that runs through the collection of purity, making the clothes easily wearable as they are targeted to a unisex audience.

Most notable in the collection is an earthy coolness about the simplicity of the clothing and accessories. Featured throughout are the black leather sling back sandals that work on women and men. They highlight the durability of Peir Wu’s direction in fashion and the effortless, relaxed feel of the clothing that is throughout her label, a unisex collaboration of smart but simple classic pieces.

Sticking with muted colour themes of navy, whites, browns and blacks to simplify the neutrality of the clothing, there is something that speaks uniform and smartness about the tailored cut and easily wearable pieces. The wide leg culottes are a breezy nod to the airy attitude of spring clothing, whilst the tunics promote a more sport-luxe feel with striped sides.

A new take on the classic jogger trousers, Peir Wu has opted for a more tailored option to keep this look sharp. In grey marl, they’re the perfect combination of tailored meets luxe. Teamed with the slim blazers and tailored coats, this collaboration injects chic into tailored functional clothing. Minimal detailing and muted tones make it the perfect collection to ease into the transition of Spring/Summer.
