Bringing a ray of sunshine to the imbibing world this summer is The Tequila Festival, which will start on the 19th August in the Gardens at Studio 338 in London. The festival will then embark on a nationwide tour of sixteen major cities to bring top-quality tequila along with much-loved Mexican culture and entertainment to the great British public.

It is going to be an all-day enriching experience starting from 1:00pm until 11:00pm and ticket-holders will be able to sample over thirty tequilas. Tickets are available from just £20 and include a complimentary shot on arrival and a detailed tequila bible, which will guide you through the exquisite tasting journey.

Tequila sales over the last two years have rocketed by over a third, especially for premium brands and even celebrities have taken to owning their private tequila brands such as Justin Timberlake’s Sauza 901 and George Clooney’s Casamigos, which just sold for $1 billion. This versatile spirit has formed the basis of many classic and beloved cocktails like the Margarita, the Paloma and the Tequila Sunrise. Increasingly, it is being recognised as a sophisticated drink of choice rather than the typical tequila shot followed by a lemon wedge. One of the main aims of this festival is to show off the rich cultural heritage and identity of this world-renowned spirit.

Apart from beverage consumption, there will be specialist food stalls that will help soak up the alcohol and the atmosphere. There will be the spectacle of traditional Mexican dancing as well as a Mariachi band. The Tequila Festival aims to reflect the modern popularity of the drink with DJs spinning Latino vibes, awe-inspiring acrobats and processions inspired by the Day of the Dead.
