Thomas Wylde names Candid Editor as Ambassador
October 28, 2016
Candid’s Paris-based, international editor-at-large, Farouk Chekoufi has just been appointed as the first ambassador in France to Los Angeles fashion house, Thomas Wylde.
Founded in 2006, the luxury brand offers – in perhaps a wink to the second name – edgy ready-to-wear and accessories. Known for its signature of blending the moody with the elegant, Farouk Chekoufi will be an ambassador for Thomas Wylde’s new men’s accessory collection and capsule range that is launching this coming week.
Farouk says, “I’m honored to be appointed a Thomas Wylde brand ambassador in France. The brand has a history, a luxury DNA and an iconic and ultra-chic style.”
A unique pairing, Thomas Wylde prides itself on having a strong vision layered from various influences: politics, environmental movements and technology, nodding toward a future product offering outside the strict fashion boundary, while Farouk is known throughout the industry for his sharp editing and styling skills and as a global media influencer.
“We are beyond thrilled and honoured to have Farouk as our brand ambassador. He is the first person we’ve had representing our brand out of France. Not only is he an amazing stylist who intrinsically understands the brand, but he represents the lifestyle that Thomas Wylde stands for. He embodies the soul, the music, and the art that is Thomas Wylde—we could not be happier,” says Thomas Wylde’s creative director, Jene Park.
What will the new men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections entail? Circling back to Candid’s home the UK, the brand’s aesthetic pays homage to its British roots and a rock ‘n’ roll culture. We’re expecting the men’s pieces to hold to true to those codes via luxury fabrics, plenty of prints and the use of strong symbolism.
A success by any means, Thomas Wylde started with a single stockists ten years ago: Maxfield in Los Angeles, and now has over one hundred and twenty accounts worldwide. We look forward to celebrating the next ten years with Thomas Wylde and are doubly excited about the new chapter’s addition of menswear.
