Tiger of Sweden AW14
August 28, 2014
Tiger of Sweden have released their Autumn Winter ’14 collection inspired by iconic rock ‘n’ roll actors and key figures. With the collaboration of a soft colour palette and an essence of rock ‘n’ roll the collection concludes with its very own individual charisma.
The garments combine classic tailoring, defined structure and bold colours to express a seventies style masculine identity. The intimate use of a monochrome colour palette with extracts of calm beige and deep navy shades expose individuality of the designs.
Not only does the collection pose structured patterns but it doesn’t fail to forget the tailoring that has defined their brand. Tiger of Sweden have obtained a bold seventies tailoring tradition making their brand unforgettable. Its fair to say it’s impossible to miss this inevitable aesthetic throughout the autumn winter designs, except this collection incorporates a desirable rock ‘n’ roll stigma.
Ronnie McDonald, the designer of Tiger of Sweden’s menswear said “the inspiration for the autumn collection was taken from Robert Redford’s iconic character in the film, Three days of the Condor” expressing a “rock ’n’ roll attitude”. This inspiration is clearly defined throughout the designs with key pieces being full length trench coats and double-breasted suits with jigger buttons recreating Robert Redford’s iconic character.
The collection’s aim was to portray rock ‘n’ roll icons throughout their designs whilst reinforcing their characteristic tailoring. From seeing the collection its clear to say their inspirational designs are rocking and rolling us with attitude we cant get enough of.
