Top 6 Collaborations for Christmas
December 18, 2018
What to get for the guy who has everything? It’s a question all too common this time of year and one that the Candid team knows too well.
Having spent the last few months attending press days and launch events (painstaking research!), we’ve come to the conclusion that the most-coveted gifts this festive season are the by-product of designer collaborations.
Available in small quantities and for a limited time, there is something special that happens when two powerhouses get together, the kind of magic that is sure to delight come Christmas morning.
From footwear to homeware and everything in between, below we’ve rounded up the most exclusive designer collabs which are sure to up the ante on your holiday gifting.
Christopher Raeburn x Timberland
Designer of the moment Christopher Raeburn has teamed up with cult American sportswear brand Timberland for a deconstructed take on iconic styles. Wardrobe staples get the Christopher Raeburn treatment with cut and sew techniques, innovative logo placements and a 100% organic cotton update.
The rebuilt and reversible jacket will be a winner for the hard-to-please guy on your list – bright and bold on the blue/coral side or subdued in black with logo details on the other.

Nick Vinson for Matches.com
Less collaboration and more curated edit comes the uber-chic selects from Wallpaper* editor Nick Vinson for Matches. The editor at large brings his years of experience in the design sector, to one of the world’s premier fashion sites.
The arbiter of good taste has called upon the modern (Roksanda Illincic) to the minimal (John Pawson) for a homeware collection full of gifts you never knew you needed! Our fave pick for the luxury aficionado on your list is the Bottega Veneta intrecciato weave pillows. The epitome of discreet luxury for those, ‘in the know’.

Timex x Tom Snyder Maritime Watch
The gift of time – a gift that’s truly one size fits all as Tom Snyder continues his ongoing partnership with Timex and the MS1 Maritime Sport.
Designed to complement the modern man’s wardrobe, the watch takes inspiration from the British Navy with its stainless-steel finish and double nylon strap. The graphic touches on the strap add a sporty finish to this practical timepiece. Water resistant and with the added bonus of an Indigo night light, this watch is a piece he’ll wear every day.
Jamie Oliver x SFA
For the footwear fanatic on your list comes a surprising meeting of two worlds: Jamie Oliver and Seven Feet Apart. We’ve previously written about the collection here but couldn’t resist wish-listing the Hi-top pair too. Limited to one hundred pairs per style and signed by Jamie himself, the collaboration is a sure-fire win for food and footwear lovers alike.
Seven Feet Apart goes beyond luxury materials and locally sourced productions to donate seven per cent of profits to local charities, bringing the concept of giving and receiving full circle.

Take your SFA gifting a step further with this gift card, (complete with leather samples) for selecting the perfect pair.
Burberry x Vivienne Westwood
Teased earlier this year, the Burberry x Vivienne Westwood collection has long been on the tips of fashion insiders’ tongues. Just in time for the holidays comes the drop which reimagines pieces from Westwood’s archives in the classic Burberry check which is quickly selling out.
For the fashion philanthropist on your list go for this logo-less piece, which references Cool Earth – a non-profit organisation working to stop deforestation and climate change (where proceeds of the entire collection goes towards).
Original Penguin x Chinatown Market.
Streetwear gets a dash of whimsy as classic American sportswear brand meets DIY style with Chinatown Market. Hoodies, tees and signature polos (first spotted on Frank Sinatra and Clint Eastwood) gets the mashup treatment with oversized logos, gingham and the iconic ‘Pete The Penguin’.
We think the gingham hoodie in sycamore would be the ideal gift to wear for Christmas lunch and all year round. Shop the collection here.
