William Stone Spring/Summer 2016
June 15, 2015
William Stone’s SS16 outing was a presentation of contradicting aesthetics. From the models’ hair – dreadlocked, top-knotted or tightly cropped – to the mix of tailoring and printed casuals.
Set in the Century Club’s grand space, to the backdrop of a solo pianist, tailoring in teal green and horizontal navy pinstripes were worn relaxed, while bombers and shorts were given a smarter luxe twist with their use of wool and more pinstripes.
Graphic prints of trees on a denim western jacket and shorts, and partridges on a bomber with coordinating trousers mirrored the foliage in the presentation space. Each look paired with leather sandals added a safari feel – the single white short-sleeved belted safari shirt unifying the theme.
Other elements included softer sweats with chevron stripes and loosely rolled hems, bringing together the small but well-considered collection from the young designer.
