Wood Wood, Yes I Wood
January 26, 2019
Wood Wood presented their autumn/winter 2019 collection at London Fashion Week Men’s; Candid’s Fashion & Grooming Editor, Ross Pollard reviews.
Wonderful winter wearables, that was what Wood Wood brought to LFWM, a collection that would be the perfect capsule for any young man in the season of frost, icicles and bone-chilling breezes. A collection that will keep you warm and looking hot. What more could you want.
The simple Norwegian aesthetic they bring in to play was given some camo and a healthy spritzing of colour here and there. With its clean lines and symmetrical knit designs there is enough difference to lift almost utilitarian-at-times styling into a more street-focused collection.
I also enjoyed the detailing and little flourishes. The second glance reveals that the knee patch has a zip on it, the outside tying draw cords, and the cuffing used occasionally on the trousers.
This is a collection that’s about living and being an active wardrobe constituent rather than a show pony that will barely see the lights of the outside world. The heart of Wood Wood and their success is understanding that men’s fashion is all about mixing, matching and most importantly about wearing.
This is a collection which fits each look together in a completed jigsaw, yet the parts can chop, change and slide around like a kaleidoscope.
I really like what Wood Wood are doing and where they have decided to take their fans. Long may it continue.
